This article provides three methods to help check whether a specific application is available for download in different regions of the Apple App Store.

Suppose you live in Hong Kong and are excited to install the ChatGPT application on your iPhone. You open the Apple App Store, but you can't find the app. Then, you use the Safari browser to search and open the download link, but after redirecting to the App Store, you see the message: "This app is not available in your country or region."

At this point, you may need to check in which countries and regions the app is available on the App Store. This article will teach you how to do that.

Check if an app is available for download in a specific region's app store#

You can use this method to check whether a specific app is available for download in a particular region's app market.

This method consists of the following three steps:

1. Obtain the app's ID number
2. Get the English code for the region you want to check
3. Perform the query

For example, if the app you want to check is ChatGPT, you can use a search engine to search for chatgpt apple store, and then open the official link ChatGPT on the App Store - Apple (the link is https://apps.apple.com/us/app/chatgpt/id6448311069). From the link, you can see that the app's ID is 6448311069.

Next, find the corresponding region code from the regional table attached at the end of this article. For instance, if you want to check whether the app is available in the Taiwan Apple Store, you can find that the English code for Taiwan is TW.

Finally, perform a manual query. Convert the code to lowercase tw, and then combine it with the app's ID number to create a link in the following format:

https://apps.apple.com/tw/app/id6448311069

Try opening this link in your browser. If the link can be accessed successfully, it indicates that the app is available for download in that region's app market.

If the page keeps displaying "Connecting" and cannot be opened normally, it means that the app is not available in that region's app store, and therefore cannot be installed from that store. As shown in the image below:

However, this manual query method is relatively inefficient. If you need to check multiple regions at the same time, you can only open different links one by one.

Check all regions where an iOS app is available#

Here is a method to check all regions where a specific app is available on the Apple App Store.

1. Obtain the app's ID number. The method to obtain it is detailed above. For example, the ID number for ChatGPT is 6448311069.
2. Use the app's ID number to create a link in the following format: https://app.sensortower.com/overview/6448311069?country=US (in this example, the app is ChatGPT).
3. Open the link in your browser and check the list of regions in the Country/Region dropdown box on the right side of the webpage.

Check if an app can be downloaded using accounts from several regions#

Suppose you already have Apple accounts from China and the United States and want to confirm whether a specific application can be downloaded from these regions' app stores. If you use the second method mentioned above, you would need to manually compare each item in the list.

However, this method is not convenient enough, so we provide a third method.

Steps:

1. Obtain the app's ID number. The method to obtain it is detailed above. For example, the ID number for ChatGPT is 6448311069.
2. Replace the app ID in the following link: https://applecensorship.com/app-store-monitor/test/6448311069 (in this example, the app is ChatGPT).
3. Open the link in your browser. If a region in the table shows ✓, it indicates that the app can be downloaded from that region's app store. You can also click the Add another App Store button to add more regions' App Stores for comparison.
